SCARY OR DIE TRYING
SCARY OR DIE is akin to films like TALES FROM THE CRYPT --- five stories of the macabre overseen by a ghastly host. The host in SCARY is the webmaster of a site devoted to such ghoulish tales. We get stories about zombies resurrected on the US/American border; a lonely businessman picks up a deadly bevy of dangerous beauties; a hitman screws up big time; a killer clown bites a young father who undergoes a horrifying transformation, and a short epilogue that identifies the webmaster.
SCARY OR DIE didn't procure any major stars so the acting is mediocre at best. A moderately enjoyable film worth a rental if you are into horror anthologies.
Five Stories That Hit or Miss - But Should Satisfy Horror Fans
Scary or Die has its moments as a collection of short horror movies, but each story included is either entertaining or forgettable. It takes a page from Creepshow in that you're treated to a variety of different stories, although there's no single tie-in that really connects them. The only real link between each short is that characters overlap, though sometimes in a fun and subtle way that you may not catch at first.
The less you know about the plot of any of these stories, the more you will enjoy the movie. What surprised me most was that Scary or Die was shot on a shoestring budget, but visually it's a great horror movie. The directing and cinematography were surprisingly good, especially the great colors and visuals of the Koreatown story, Teujung's Lament. If you're a fan of gore, Scary or Die shouldn't disappoint. Not every segment of the film offers up blood or violence, but those that do should satisfy most horror fans.

"Not as Good as Everyone Makes it to be"
"Scary or Die" is an anthology horror film that I found to be no where near as good as other reviews and ratings have made it out to be. Yes it is well shot for a very small budget but the stories leave more to be desired. I do not want to spoil any of the shorts because doing so would ruin any enjoyment you could find in them. If they would of been longer, especially the second short the film could of been so much better. The only short that was really worth watching, also being the longest of the shorts, was "Clowned" the fourth entry.
It was actually original for me and would of been nice as a full length feature. If you have nothing better to watch check it out as everyone's tastes are different and you might actually enjoy it. As for me, especially being a horror fan, I couldn't find enough enjoyment in it to watch again. If you want to watch some better horror anthology films check out "The Theatre...
